By train
Cromford station is 1½ miles away. Though the trip to Cotton House is normally a 30 minute walk or an 8 minute cycle ride, the road between Cromford station and Cotton House is currently closed to all foot and wheeled traffic because of roadworks to repair a landslide.
The detour from Cromford station to Cotton House is too far to walk. If cycling, you will need to follow the A6 to Whatstandwell and then turn off and go through Crich and Holloway to Lea Bridge.
If you are coming from Matlock, you will need to go via Tansley and Upper Lea.
Another alternative would be to organise a taxi pick-up from Cromford station.

By bus
Coach to Matlock and then a 141 bus (Matlock–Alfreton route), which stops right outside Cotton House and takes 16 minutes from Matlock bus station.
